It all started when he was still a child, playing with his fluffy buddy Majoor Blaffinski. Kevin liked to design them a robot friend, whom he called Robbie. Robbie was supposed to be able to be a cooldrinkmakerbot, who can suck water in through one of his arms, mix it with cooldrink syrup inside himself, and then pour a nice refreshing drink out of his other arm.
Unfortunately Robbie developed a short circuit or something, and exploded. Probably one has to be very careful when mixing electrical components, robotic circuitry and water and fluids.
But this did not discourage Kevin. He knew that one day he would be able to create a robot that can stand in as an avatar for an individual at work. Instead of the human itself having to slave away all their days in a monotonous job, the human can purchase one of Kevin's robots that can be programmed to do most all the tasks and many days the robot will be able to stand in for the human at work, while the human can spend some free time developing their talents or working on fulfilling their true calling or something of the like.
Yes, probably there are still a lot of problems with this way of working; for one, the company would sooner just buy themselves the robot and have it working for free, instead of having to pay a human a salary if mostly the robot will be doing the work. But, Kevin is still young and ambitious and still believes in his vision of making the world a better place by relieving humans of boring jobs that is better left to robots and machines.
Because of this life dream though, Kevin would run into lots of trouble too with those who want to use his plans for their own agendas...
