Sarie is very worried about the fires she sees in the distance, seemingly closer every time she looks. She jumps with fright when Beeswagter calls out to her from her home.
He brought her the last of Annah's belongings, after Annah seems to have vanished off of the face of the earth without a trace. Sarie is very scared of being disappeared like that too, which is another reason she's very jumpy.
Beeswagter cannot provide her comforting words though, as he has to run again to go and save the cattle that the fire seems to be getting much to close to.
Sarie gets another jumpscare when Wolkop and Verfkwas trip and fall behind her.
They've been partying and drinking some concoction that was far too potent for them, and although Sarie tries to alert them to the fire, they are simply in no state to take anything serious at the moment.
They'd rather go sleep in the house for a while and not worry about anything right now.
