He doesn't understand anymore why somebody ugly is out there trying to smash his life dreams. Who is this "Madman Uys"?
Majoor and him go home and find Mother playing her piano. Kevin asks her if she has any idea who Madman Uys is.
She starts to recall something that his Grandfather always told, but she is interrupted by tremors getting wilder. Not long before Kevin and her realise that this is going to be a really bad earthquake!
Mother in desperation yells that they should all hide under the piano so that any falling debris and ceiling and things that come off the walls, hit the piano and not them.
Scary time follows during which the earth is violently shaking, and things are breaking all around them...
